My Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes from my Favorite Bloggers
This week, I decided to do something a bit different! With Thanksgiving just a couple of days away in Canada, I wanted to put together a list of some of my favorite recipes from my favorite food bloggers, so that everyone can enjoy! If you’re looking to fill any holes in your Thanksgiving menu this weekend, you’ve come to the right place!
Creamy Whole 30 Mashed Potatoes
By: Mary’s Whole Life
First up is mashed potatoes, one of everyone’s favorite holiday side dishes! This recipe comes from www.maryswholelife.com. Mary has celiac disease, so if you are gluten intolerant or sensitive, you’ll be able to find all kinds of great recipes here! Her recipes are also often paleo and dairy free, so almost everyone can enjoy!
You’ll notice this is the only potato recipe on my Thanksgiving round up, and with good reason! These are seriously my favorite mashed potatoes! This recipe is whole30, which means it contains no dairy or grains! She was able to recreate the classic mashed potato recipe without any heavy cream or butter. If you haven’t tried this already, add it to your list!
Best Paleo Stuffing
By: 40 Aprons
You’ll notice that there are actually 2 stuffing recipes on this list. That is because I LOVE stuffing, and also because I couldn’t decide between the two! This first recipe is from 40aprons.com. I’ve tried a lot of recipes from this blog, and never found one that I didn’t enjoy!
This particular recipe is also paleo, so if you are someone who is grain-free, you definitely need to give this a try! The ingredient list is very versatile so you can make some alterations depending on what you have on hand AND it has all of those wonderful traditional stuffing flavors despite being grain-free!
Healthy Apple Chicken Sausage Stuffing
By: Erin Lives Whole
The second stuffing recipe I chose to share, comes from erinliveswhole.com. This recipe uses gluten-free bread, if you have any issues with gluten AND contains no dairy! The apple and sausage flavors go together amazingly! If you’re looking for a healthier, but still classic stuffing recipe, this is definitely it!
Vegan Sweet Potato Casserole
By: Choosing Chia
This sweet potato casserole changed the sweet potato game for me. A few years ago, I thought I didn’t even like sweet potatoes, now we eat them a couple of time per week! You’re probably wondering what is so great about this particular sweet potato casserole that changed my entire view on sweet potatoes, right? Well, this recipe comes from choosingchia.com, and it can be made super quickly in a food processor, it can be made gluten-free with gluten-free oats AND it’s vegan. The crumble topping has maple syrup in it, which just goes perfectly with the sweet potato!
Whole 30 + Keto Roasted Green Beans
By: Tastes Lovely
If you’re looking for an easy and delicious side dish, this is it! This recipe comes from www.tasteslovely.com. She makes delicious recipes that are often keto AND the best part? You’d never know you’re eating something keto. I’ve made many of her recipes, and every single ones has been delicious! Kai likes to try to stick to keto or at least a lower carb diet, so I get a lot of recipes from here! These green beans are keto, paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, and low carb. What else could you want in a recipe that ALSO tastes delicious?
Garlic Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon
By: Paleo Running Momma
Next up, we have Brussels sprouts! Another side dish I never knew I needed in my life until a few years ago. This recipe is delicious. Holiday or not, we make these consistently throughout the year. This recipe comes from www.paleorunningmomma.com. What makes these Brussels sprouts out of this world? 1) Bacon, and 2) Balsamic vinegar. The Brussels sprouts come out crispy and delicious every time!
Dairy-Free Cheesy Broccoli Casserole
By: Mary’s Whole Life
This is the second recipe on my thanksgiving list that comes from maryswholelife.com! Is it a traditional Thanksgiving side dish? Technically, no. BUT is it a side dish you need to start making and maybe include in your Thanksgiving Day festivities? Yes. I love cheese and broccoli together. We never eat this because Kai is dairy-free and we like to try to stick to a more paleo-esque diet most of the time. This casserole is the perfect substitution. It has no dairy at all and gets it’s cheesy taste from other ingredients like nutritional yeast!
Simple Homemade Paleo Cranberry Sauce
By: Paleo Running Momma
We never made cranberry sauce for turkey dinners growing up. However, I recently had cranberry sauce with a holiday meal, and there’s no going back now! This recipe is by www.paleorunningmomma.com and it’s by far the easiest and most delicious cranberry sauce recipe (paleo or not) you’ll find out there!
Pumpkin Pie Bars with Almond Cookie Crust
By: Choosing Chia
Last up is dessert! Similarly to the stuffing, I needed to post TWO recipes for this category, because I love dessert. This first is another recipe coming from choosingchia.com. I’ve never been a huge pumpkin pie fan, but I do love these pumpkin pie bars. They also have an almond cookie crust, and it’s delicious! The recipe is also vegan and paleo – so almost anyone can (and should) give this recipe a try!
Delicious Paleo Chocolate Cream Pie
By: rachlmansfield
Finally (drumroll please) we have a dessert from one of my favorite bloggers! This is an alternative if you are like the old me and claim you don’t enjoy pumpkin flavored things. This is a chocolate cream pie that is paleo AND vegan, so if you have any issues with dairy or grains, you need to give this recipe a try! The pie (minus the crust) only has THREE ingredients: dates, dairy-free milk and melted chocolate. You can’t find an easier dessert recipe than this!
Disclaimer: None of the recipes shared in this post are of my own creation. They are a round-up of some of my favorite recipes from my favorite bloggers. All recipes have been linked to the original content creators blogs.
